Certified energy management – for the sake of the environment
Energy transition, efficient use of resources, and the switch to renewable energies are topics that the BURGER GROUP has been pursuing with great vigor for years. We do this for the sake of the environment, but also to reduce costs.
For over 75 years, we have been operating our own hydroelectric power plant, which generates over 650,000 kWh of electricity annually. In addition, our solar power systems generate up to approximately 1,000,000 kWh of solar power each year. By way of comparison: this energy generated from renewable sources could power approximately 430 two-person households for an entire year.
But extracting energy from natural resources does not automatically mean using it efficiently.For this reason, the BURGER GROUP operates an E-Power system that makes it possible to reduce total electricity consumption by around five to six percent. With an annual electricity consumption of just under six million kWh, this means a reduction of a further 300,000 kWh per year. Independently of this, all BURGER sites in Germany produce with green electricity.
Our energy management system is certified under DIN 50001.
