Training at the BURGER GROUP

An apprenticeship at the BURGER GROUP is something special: With us, you become part of a real team. It is especially important to us to promote your strengths and your continuous development. Thanks to our qualified trainers and the high internal vertical range of manufacture, our apprentices acquire comprehensive, exceptionally well-founded knowledge during their training. Our trainee ratio is better than the average. Almost all apprentices achieve very good results, for which they regularly receive awards.

Industrial apprenticeships

Toolmaker (m/f/d)

As a toolmaker, you will produce stamping tools, casting and injection molds or devices for industrial series production and mechanical engineering, as well as precision mechanical and surgical instruments. For the production, you mostly use CNC-controlled machine tools, which you also program yourself.

Industrial mechanic (m/f/d)

As an industrial mechanic, you organize and control production processes and ensure that machines and production facilities are ready for operation. You build machines or entire production lines, install and network them and put them into operation.

Mechatronics technician (m/f/d)

As a mechatronics technician, you build complex mechatronic systems, e.g. robots for industrial production, from mechanical, electrical and electronic assemblies and components. You test the individual components and assemble them into systems and installations. You commission the finished systems, program them, or install the associated software.

Machine and plant operator (m/f/d)

As a machine and plant operator specializing in metal and plastics technology, you work on machines and plants for the production of components, assemblies, and products made of metal and plastics. Before you start production, you view the order documents and provide the necessary materials (e.g. metal materials, plastic granulates). You then set up, load, commission, and operate equipment such as lathes, drilling, grinding, sawing, or forming machines.

Cutting machine operator (m/f/d)

As a cutting machine operator, you produce precision metal components using exciting processes such as turning, milling, drilling, or grinding. You usually work with CNC-controlled machine tools or production systems. You set these up and monitor machining processes.

Process mechanic (m/f/d)

As a process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology specializing in molded parts, you produce molded workpieces and finished parts from polymer materials. You set up machines properly and organize and monitor production. Raw material is mixed and pre-treated, faults are located and rectified, the desired parts are manufactured and finally checked for quality.

Commercial apprenticeships

Industrial management assistant (m/f)

As an Industrial management assistant, you will deal with commercial and business management tasks such as materials management, sales and marketing, human resources, finance and accounting in companies from all sectors.

Industrial management assistant with additional qualification (m/f/d)

As an Industrial management assistant, you will deal with commercial and business management tasks such as materials management, sales and marketing, human resources, finance and accounting in companies from all sectors. In addition, you will acquire skills in the areas of international economics and business administration with controlling and job-related foreign languages.

IT Specialist (m/f/d)

As an IT specialist specializing in system integration, you implement customer-specific information and communication solutions. To do this, you network hardware and software components into complex systems. In addition, you advise and train the users.

Warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d)

As a warehouse logistics specialist, you receive goods, check them, and store them properly. You put together deliveries and route plans, load and dispatch goods. You will also be involved in the optimization of logistical processes.

Management Assistant for Digitalization Management (m/f/d)

As a digitalization management assistant, you analyze data and existing work, business and value creation processes and then develop them digitally. To do this, you determine the need for IT products and services, obtain quotations, procure the required hardware and software, and introduce them into the company. If there are no suitable standard applications, you participate in the development, creation and implementation of individual IT solutions.

High retention rate

We not only train you, we also take you on! Almost 95% of our trainees remain loyal to our company after their training.

Besides the job-specific learning content, we offer you lots of activities that are meaningful and fun: Our trainees are involved in social projects – such as the reconstruction of a children’s playground after the flood disaster in the Ahr valley in 2021. In addition, there are numerous sporting opportunities and regional sporting events in which we participate – such as the Black Forest Bike Marathon. In addition, we offer a wide range of internal events with a high fun factor, such as the beach volleyball cup, the fun soccer tournament and trainee excursions, as well as many other activities that change annually.

What do our trainees have to say about it?

“The dual study program at the BURGER GROUP gives me fascinating insights into the professional life of an industrial engineer. The specialist knowledge learned at the DHBW can be directly applied and deepened in practice here. An outstanding feature of Burger Group compared to other companies is a high level of vertical integration, which allows me to gain knowledge in a variety of production processes.”

Marius, Industrial Engineering Student

“I decided to start an apprenticeship that offers me good prospects for the future and includes my interest in commercial processes. I found what I was looking for at the BURGER GROUP. I really liked the working atmosphere and the great interaction with each other. Due to the regular department changes that we go through as commercial trainees, I quickly got a good overview of the interrelationships of the departments and their tasks.”

Nadine, apprentice industrial Case Handler

“The profession of mechatronics technician is quite varied and offers many insights into the mechanical and electrical world of work. Working with robots and on automation is the most interesting thing for me as a budding mechatronics engineer. I am glad that I am at the BURGER GROUP because the employees can teach me a lot and the working atmosphere is very good. I’m already looking forward to the coming years here.”
